LOCTITE ECI 1014 E&C
Main features
- Low temperature drying
- High conductivity
- Compatible for use with polycarbonate, polyester and polyurethane
Product Description
LOCTITE® ECI 1014 is a highly conductive, silver, high-elongation ink based on a thermoplastic polyurethane binder. This combined stretchability and high conductivity enables the development of medical wearables, smart textiles, automotive interiors, and flexible heater applications.
LOCTITE® ECI 1014 can be dried at temperatures as low as 80°C (176°F). It is suitable for screen printing or high-speed printing after dilution, and compatible with solvent-sensitive substrates such as polycarbonate or thermoplastic polyurethane.
Drying cycle
- 15 minutes @ 120°C

Thixotropic index Thixotropic index Thixotropic Index is a ratio of a material s viscosity at two different speeds in Ambient temperature, generally different by a factor of ten. A thixotropic material s viscosity will decrease as agitation or pressure is increased. It indicates the capability of a material to hold its shape. Mayonnaise is a great example of this. It holds its shape very well, but when a shear stress is applied, the material easily spreads. It helps in choosing a material in accordance to the application, dispense method and viscosity of a material. | 2.0 |
Viscosity Viscosity Viscosity is a measurement of a fluid’s resistance to flow. Viscosity is commonly measured in centiPoise (cP). One cP is defined as the viscosity of water and all other viscosities are derived from this base. MPa is another common unit with a 1:1 conversion to cP. A product like honey would have a much higher viscosity -around 10,000 cPs- compared to water. As a result, honey would flow much slower out of a tipped glass than water would. The viscosity of a material can be decreased with an increase in temperature in order to better suit an application | 10,000 mPa.s |
Additional Information
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
1. Surface Preparation
- Clean the surface thoroughly prior to application
2. Mixing/Dilution
- Mix thoroughly before use to ensure it is homogenous.
- Moderate heating of the ink, up to 40°C, can improve product homogeneity
- Should dilution be necessary use Dowanol DPM (CAS: 34590-94-8). Henkel recommends a maximum of 10 wt%. This should be accomplished by adding solvent at 0.5 wt% intervals by weight until desired viscosity and printability are achieved.
3. Application
- LOCTITE ECI 1014 E&C may be applied by screen printing method.
- Recommended screen and printing parameters are:
Emulsion Thickness, µm:
Solvent resistant 10 to 40
Squeegee Hardness 70 to 90
Screen Type, Polyester screen, cm 77-48
