Thermal Insulators

Thermal insulator pads are the latest high-performance thermal conductivity and electrical insulation materials. They are made with silicon resin as the matrix, reinforced with glass fiber as the substrate. They come with single sided Pressure sensitive adhesives for easy assembly.

These thermal insulators are designed to provide low thermal impedance, high breakdown voltage and high isolation for high power and high voltage applications. Integrated fiberglass reinforcement protects the pad from tears, cut-throughs and punctures.

TIP1500 and TIP3500 are designed to be soft and conformal which provide excellent mating surface for low pressure mounting. TIP1500 offers 0.23mm thickness and 1.5 W/m·K thermal conductivity while TIP3500 is available in thicknesses ranging from 0.25mm to 0.50mm with a thermal conductivity of 3.5 W/m·K and superior insulation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are some typical Thermal Insulator applications?

Typical Thermal Grease Applications include:

  • Automotive electronics
  • Power conversion equipment
  • Power supply equipment
  • Motor controllers
  • Speaker amplifier
  • Power switch

What is the main difference between Thermal insulators?

As obvious by the nomeclature and from a quick look at the product properties, the main difference is Thermal conductivity. TIP1500 has a TC of 1.5 (W/m·K) while TIP1500 has a TC of 3.5 (W/m·K). This is a direct consequence of the product\'s thickness.

While they are both V0 non flammable and their breakdown voltage is identical, the dielectric constant and volume resistivity vastly differs. Please refer to the Technical datasheets for additional information.
